Friday Night Sew-In Quilt

Here's the quilt I made for the Friday Night Sew-In. I finished the border this evening. It's a puzzle quilt that I'm planning to hang in my classroom. I work with many students with autism and the symbol for autism is the puzzle pieces. I've had this pattern for quite awhile, but finally got around to making it. I still need to quilt it. I wonder when that will happen?

Crazy Baby Quilt

Another productive evening...I finished the top of a baby quilt that I am giving to a co-worker. It's a little overdue, but that's what happens when people don't find out what the gender of the baby is before they deliver! Well, it was a girl! I used the Kwik Scrappy Square pattern from Two Quik Quilters. If you have ever wanted to try a crazy quilt, but didn't know where to start...their patterns are so easy! I have used at least 3 of their patterns, including the one for the tote bag. I actually used this same fabric for a tote baby and made a baby bag for another co-worker. Now, if I could only get out to the store to get some fabric for the backing, all would be good.

A Quilt for Daisy Dog

Over a year ago, my nephew, Chase, called and asked me to make a quilt for his beagle, Daisy. He wanted something with "dog bones." I finally have gotten around to it, thanks to the snow! It's definitely nothing fancy...but finished, except for the binding!! One more project checked off of my list. I have to thank Cheryl http://myfeeddogsaredown.blogspot.com and Quilting Adventures for doing the Scrap Therapy workshops. I just grabbed some 5 in squares from my box and got to sewing!

Egg Towels

I finally had success!!! I tried to embroider these towels before Christmas...but I kept having so much trouble! First, the arm on the machine broke and had to be repaired and then I could never get it working right... the design would almost be completed and then as it went back to do the outline, it got off kilter somehow. I think I ruined 6 towels! I thought the machine wasn't calibrated right, but I guess I didn't have the towels stabilized well enough. Thanks, Mom...for figuring out the problem!! Maybe these will now be Valentine's Gifts...I guess appropriate since they have the hearts on them.

Sweatshirt Jacket

Well, I must be part vampire or maybe just a true night owl...After a lazy day yesterday, I got my energy around 10 pm and started on my sweatshirt. I was supposed to take a class on Saturday, but it got canceled because of the snow. I decided to attempt it on my own. I went to bed at 3:30 am, after the sweatshirt went into the dryer. I finished it around 9:30 this morning. I guess this type of behavior explains the title of my blog...I am not one of those people that can leisurely sew for an hour or two and then put down a project...I have marathon sessions until my project is finished. I'm always in a quilt'n frenzy!!
